A friend in need is a friend indeed

There were two friends. They lived in a particular village. 

They promised together that they would help each other at 

the time of danger. One day they were passing through a 

deep terrible forest. Suddenly a hungry bear was coming in 

front of them thinking them prey. So both were afraid and 

frightend and was thinking what to do. One of them knows 

to climb a tree. He at once climbed a tree and hide 

himself. The other friend, found no alternatives, fell on the 

ground and held his breath, pretending to be a dead man. 

The bear came up to him and smelt his eyes, nose, ears, 

face and chest. It look him to be a dead man and the 

bear 

left the place a few moments later. When the bea went 

away, the first friend in the tree came down and said, 

“Thank God that you are saved and ok. But my friend, I 

saw the bear put its mouth very closely to your ear. Did it 

say anything secret to you?’’ The friend replied, “Yes, the 

bear told me not to trust a friend who left a friend in 

danger to seek his own safety.’’
